To use The Lemon — the viral lemon-shaped suction vibrator for women — charge it until the indicator light is solid, wash it, then long-press the power button for three seconds. Seal the 0.47″ suction opening over the clitoris — not on top of it, around it — and press the button once to cycle through all 10 settings until you find the one that works. It is fully submersible, so the bath counts.
Air-pulse toys are the one category where people most often decide the toy does not work for them, when really the toy was just being held wrong. The Lemon is our most popular one, and almost every question I get about it comes down to the same two things: the seal, and the settings. Here is the whole method.
The single most common mistake: pressing the opening down onto the clitoris like a regular vibrator. Air-pulse toys need a sealed pocket of air to work — rest the opening so it surrounds the clitoris without touching it, and the sensation changes completely. The Lemon’s 0.47″ opening is designed for smaller or less exposed clitorises, which is exactly why the seal matters more here than on a bigger toy.
What should you do before first use?
1. Charge it fully. A blinking light means it is charging; a solid light means it is ready. A full charge takes about an hour and gives you up to 90 minutes of use.
2. Wash it. Warm water and a dedicated adult toy cleaner like Cleansing Foam. The Lemon is waterproof and submersible up to 3 feet for 30 minutes, so you can run it under the tap without worrying.
3. Have water-based lube nearby. A drop around the opening improves the seal and makes everything more comfortable. Aqua is the one I reach for.
How do you use The Lemon, step by step?
- Power on. Long-press the power button for three seconds until the indicator light comes on.
- Start on the lowest setting. The Lemon has 10 modes of suction and vibration, and the first one is a tease for a reason. Beginning at full intensity is how people end up overstimulated and convinced the toy is “too much.”
- Build the seal. Position the opening so it surrounds the clitoris rather than pressing on it. You will know it is right when the sound changes and the sensation goes from buzzy to pulling.
- Cycle up slowly. Press the button once to move through the modes. Give each one 20–30 seconds before deciding.
- Break the seal to reset. If a setting starts to feel numb rather than intense, lift it off for a few seconds and come back. That single trick fixes most “it stopped working” complaints.
- Power off. Long-press the power button for three seconds until the light turns off.
Where else can you use it?
Nipples. The Lemon doubles as a nipple suction device, and the small opening suits that better than a wide-mouthed toy does. Same principle: seal, do not press.
The bath or shower. Fully waterproof and submersible up to 3 feet for 30 minutes. Warm water relaxes everything, which tends to make air-pulse sensation easier to enjoy.
Travel. It is 3.07″ long by 2″ wide and looks like a lemon. It reads as a keychain charm in a bag, which is why it lands on my list of the most discreet toys we sell.
Which setting should you use?
| If you want... | Start here | Why |
|---|---|---|
| A slow warm-up | Modes 1–3 | Gentle blowing; builds arousal without overwhelming |
| Steady build | Modes 4–6 | Rhythmic suckling — the closest to oral sensation |
| Intensity | Modes 7–10 | Fastest pulses; best once you are already close |
| Nipple play | Modes 1–4 | Nipples need far less intensity than most people expect |
Mode groupings are my own guidance from using it, not printed on the box — The Lemon has 10 settings and they run from delicate to explosive.
How do you make it last longer?
Air-pulse toys are fast. That is their reputation and, for a lot of people, their only drawback — the thing is over before you have properly enjoyed it. Three adjustments change that:
Stay two modes below where you want to be. The instinct is to climb to whatever setting feels most intense and stay there. Sitting one or two steps under it stretches the build out considerably, and the finish is usually stronger for it.
Use the seal as a throttle. You do not need to change the setting to change the intensity. Lifting the head slightly weakens the seal and softens everything; pressing it down firmly does the opposite. That is a far finer control than the button gives you.
Move it off and come back. Thirty seconds on the inner thigh or the outer lips, then back to the clitoris. This is edging with a toy, and The Lemon’s size makes it easy — it fits in one hand and moves without repositioning your whole body.
If you want the long version of why the sensation works the way it does, I wrote about the mechanism in how air-pulse vibrators really work.
How long does the battery last?
A full charge is about one hour and gives up to 90 minutes of use. Blinking light while charging, solid when ready. It charges over USB.
What about a 30-minute charge? This is the question I get most. The label only rates a full one-hour charge, so there is no official number for a half charge. In practice a 30-minute top-up gets you comfortably through a session — rechargeable batteries take on most of their charge in the first part of the cycle — but don't count on a specific figure. Charge it fully before the first use, and top it up between sessions rather than racing the clock.
It stops mid-session? Almost always a toy that was never fully charged the first time. Run it to a solid light once and the runtime settles down.

How should you clean and store it?
- Wash after every use with warm water and a dedicated adult toy cleaner like Cleansing Foam — no household or antibacterial cleaners. Pay attention to the inside of the suction opening — that is where residue collects.
- Dry thoroughly before it goes away. Moisture trapped in the head is the main cause of odour in suction toys.
- Store it in a cool, dry place and ideally in a Toy Tote, away from other silicone toys. Need it locked? The small Locking Toy Chest or the large Lockable Adult Toy Chest.
What are the most common questions?
It feels like nothing. What am I doing wrong? Almost always the seal. Reposition so the opening surrounds the clitoris rather than pressing on it, and add a drop of water-based lube around the rim.
Is it too small for me? The 0.47″ opening is specifically designed for smaller or less exposed clitorises. If you prefer broad, spread-out sensation, a larger air-pulse toy like The Adventurer will suit you better.
Can I use it in the bath? Yes — submersible up to 3 feet for 30 minutes.
How loud is it? Air-pulse toys make a soft pulsing sound rather than a buzz. Ambient noise and a closed door cover it.
Is “the lemon suction massager” the same thing? Yes. Lemon vibrator, lemon suction, lemon device for women, lemon toy — they are all this one air-pulse suction toy.
