Boom Boom Nasal Sticks Review (2026): The 4-Pack That Resets Your Head Before Date Night

By Valerie Zwiers
Last updated: September 25, 2026

Boom Boom is a 4-pack of aromatherapy nasal sticks, one each in Mint, Wintermint, Tropical, and Lavender, made from pure essential oils and menthol. They're $19.99 for the pack, marked down from $24.95. Each one is a pocket-sized inhaler you breathe in through the nose to open things up and get a quick, clean lift. My honest take: it's not a toy and it's not an enhancement, but it earns a spot in the nightstand because it's the fastest way I know to switch your head from "busy" to "here."

Mint or Lavender? The pack has both, so this is about which one to pull first. Mint is the wake-up: menthol, eucalyptus, and peppermint, sharp and clean. Lavender is the wind-down: lavender and orange softened with peppermint. Need to shake off the day before you can be present with someone? Lavender first, Mint in the morning.

Stress is the number one libido killer I hear about, and most of it is just a head that won't stop running. You can't force yourself to relax. What you can do is give your brain a hard sensory interrupt. That's all a nasal stick is, and it's why I started carrying these.

What is Boom Boom?

Boom Boom Naturals makes nasal sticks: small, capped inhalers filled with a custom blend of pure essential oils and menthol. You uncap one, hold it just under a nostril, and breathe in. The menthol and oils upgrade your nasal breathing and add a refreshing lift, which is the maker's language and, for once, accurate.

The 4-pack gives you one of each scent:

  • Mint: menthol, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, spearmint oil.
  • Wintermint: menthol, wintergreen oil, eucalyptus oil, peppermint oil, cornmint oil, petitgrain oil, spearmint oil.
  • Tropical: menthol, peppermint oil, grapefruit peel oil, lemon terpenes, lime peel oil, orange peel oil.
  • Lavender: menthol, lavender oil, peppermint oil, eucalyptus oil, orange peel oil, lemon peel oil.

The benefits on the label: encourages easy breathing, instantly refreshes your senses, adds a refreshing lift to your day, and is great for winding down, unwinding, and taking a moment to reset.

What it isn't: it isn't a sex toy, an arousal product, or a supplement. Nothing goes on your skin and nothing goes in your mouth. It's aromatherapy in a tube.

What did I love?

The reset is immediate. Two slow breaths of Mint and your head is somewhere else. That's what menthol and eucalyptus do, and there's no waiting for anything to kick in.

Four genuinely different scents. Most sampler packs are one idea in four colors. These aren't. Mint and Wintermint are the sharp, cooling pair. Tropical is citrus-forward and bright. Lavender is the soft one. You'll find a favorite, and you'll also find you reach for different ones at different times of day.

It's private. No cloud, no scent on your clothes, no candle to light. You can use one in the car, at your desk, or in bed next to someone who's already asleep, and nobody else smells a thing.

It travels. Each stick is the size of a lip balm. I keep one in my bag, one on the nightstand, and I've never had one leak.

It's a good party favor. The pack splits four ways. For a bachelorette or a girls' weekend, that's four little gifts for under $20.

What should you know before buying?

Know what you're buying. This is an aromatherapy product. It clears your head; it does not do anything for arousal on its own. If you want a product that changes sensation, that's an arousal gel or oil, and I cover those in my arousal gel beginner's guide.

Menthol is strong. Every scent in the pack starts with menthol. If you've ever used a mentholated rub, you know the feeling. Take a gentle first breath rather than a deep one until you know how you react. That's my advice, not a label instruction.

Keep the cap on. The oils are volatile, which is the whole point. Cap it after every use so it lasts.

Not a treatment. The label says it encourages easy breathing. That's a comfort claim, not a medical one. If you have a breathing condition, ask your doctor before using essential oils this way.

Shopping the rest of the nightstand? If toys are going in the same order, the standing rules apply: water-based Aqua lubricant for anything silicone (my lube and toy compatibility chart covers the rest), a dedicated Cleansing Foam adult toy cleaner rather than hand soap, dish soap, or antibacterial cleaners, one toy per Bioshield 75 lined Toy Tote, and the small Locking Toy Chest or the large Lockable Adult Toy Chest if it needs to stay out of sight.

How do you use Boom Boom?

  1. Pick the scent for the moment: Mint or Wintermint to wake up, Tropical to brighten, Lavender to wind down.
  2. Uncap it and hold the tip just under one nostril.
  3. Breathe in slowly through the nose, then switch sides.
  4. Recap it straight away.
  5. Use it as a ritual. The trick isn't the stick, it's the pause. Two breaths before you walk into the bedroom does more than you'd expect.

Mint vs Wintermint vs Tropical vs Lavender

You get all four, so the question is which one to reach for when. Here's my read on each, based on what's in it.

Scent What's in it Reach for it when Character Availability
Mint Menthol, eucalyptus, peppermint, spearmint Morning, mid-afternoon slump Sharp, clean, cooling In stock
Wintermint Menthol, wintergreen, eucalyptus, peppermint, cornmint, petitgrain, spearmint You want the strongest cooling hit Icy, layered, the boldest of the four In stock
Tropical Menthol, peppermint, grapefruit, lemon, lime, orange You need a mood lift Bright citrus over a menthol base In stock
Lavender Menthol, lavender, peppermint, eucalyptus, orange, lemon Before bed, before intimacy Soft, floral, still cool In stock

The pack is one of each at $19.99, so you don't have to choose. If you only ever use one, it'll be Lavender at night and Mint in the morning.

What's the verdict?

Boom Boom does one small thing well: it interrupts a busy head in about four seconds, and it does it without anyone else noticing. Judged as a sex product it would be a miss. Judged as the thing you do right before you put the phone down and turn toward your partner, it's worth every bit of $19.99.

  • Best for: anyone whose evenings get eaten by stress, and anyone who wants a cheap, clean, giftable little ritual for a bachelorette or a girls' trip.
  • Buy it if: you like menthol, you want four different scents to try, and you want something private you can use anywhere.
  • Skip it if: you're expecting it to change how sex feels (that's an arousal product), you dislike menthol, or you have a breathing condition your doctor hasn't cleared for essential oils.
